A few days ago I returned from Scotland where I attended the Summer School on Multimedia Semantics. Impressions are really great. It was a nice opportunity to meet a lot of interesting people, mostly PhD students, and become familiar with their work.
I would like to point out one project that I think has a meaningful usage of semantics in order to present multimedia content. Semantics is, as I see it, realy used for necessary purposes, unlike many projects that use ontologies just to be able to state that in papers and present ther work as semantic web-related.
Scotland was a great choice for venue. There are many attractions nearby so you can extend your visit a bit longer then the summer school duration to enjoy natural beauties and historical places. Glasgow in particular is not a kind of place where you can walk safely during the night, but there are some interesting places (e.g., Willow Tea Rooms) to visit during the day.
You can see some pictures here.

Recently I read a presentation by John Breslin and Stefan Decker, which inspired me to install a word press plug-in for structured blogging. I think that providing some structured content is certainly a step towards more semantics and richer content representations, so I will try to use it in my posts.
